Adjust Caption Timing

Perfect your caption timing for synchronization with audio.

Editing Timing​

Manual timing adjustment:

  1. Click on a caption segment
  2. Modify start time or stop time
  3. Times use HH:MM:SS.mmm format
  4. Changes save automatically

Quick Timing Adjustments​

Using keyboard shortcuts:

Adjust segment start:

  • Ctrl+[ - Move start back (Numpad4)
  • Ctrl+] - Move start forward (Numpad6)

Adjust segment end:

  • Same shortcuts adjust end time

Fine adjustments (0.04 second increments):

  • Ctrl+Shift+[ - Adjust start +0.04s (Alt+Numpad4)
  • Ctrl+Shift+] - Adjust start -0.04s (Alt+Numpad6)
  • Ctrl+Alt+[ - Adjust end +0.04s (Ctrl+Numpad4)
  • Ctrl+Alt+] - Adjust end -0.04s (Ctrl+Numpad6)

Bulk Timing Adjustments​

Timing shift control:

  • Adjust all segments at once
  • Or adjust from active segment onward
  • Use preset offsets or custom values
  • Shifts timing for multiple segments

Reviewing Timing​

Use playback to verify:

  • Space - Play/Pause
  • Ctrl+Shift+P - Replay active segment
  • Listen and verify caption timing
  • Adjust as needed

Navigation during review:

  • Ctrl+↓ - Next segment
  • Ctrl+↑ - Previous segment
  • Ctrl+← - Go back 5 seconds
  • Ctrl+→ - Go forward 5 seconds

Tips​

For accurate timing:

  • Listen to audio while adjusting
  • Use segment replay to verify
  • Make fine adjustments with keyboard shortcuts
  • Use timing shift control for bulk changes
