Workspace Overview

Your Scriptix workspace is the central hub for managing all your sessions, transcripts, captions, and folders.

What is the Workspace?

The workspace displays all your documents and folders in a data grid with sorting, filtering, and organization features.

Main Features:

  • Data grid view with sortable columns
  • Folder organization with nested support
  • Search and filtering by name, status, language, and date
  • Pin important items to the top
  • Document actions (edit, export, share, delete)
  • Folder management (create, edit, move, delete, copy)

Accessing the Workspace

Navigation:

  1. After logging in, you land on the main workspace
  2. Navigate using the main menu

What You See:

  • Data Grid - Table displaying files and folders
  • Toolbar - Upload, create folder, sort controls
  • Breadcrumb Navigation - Current folder location
  • Column Headers - Click to sort
  • Action Menus - Three-dot menu on each row

Header & Controls

Available Controls:

  • Sort Order Toggle - Show folders first or sort everything by date
  • Upload Button - Upload new files
  • Folder Button - Create new folder

Status Indicators:

  • Finished (green) - Processing complete, ready to use
  • Processing (blue) - Currently being transcribed
  • Queued (yellow) - Waiting to process
  • Error (red) - Processing failed

Type Badges:

  • Transcript (purple) - Text-based transcription
  • Caption (orange) - Time-synchronized subtitles
  • Alignment (gray) - Forced alignment document

Pinning Items

Pin Important Items:

  • Click the pin icon on any row
  • Pinned items appear at the top of the first page
  • Useful for keeping frequently accessed items handy
  • Pin both folders and documents

To Pin/Unpin:

  1. Click pin icon on the left side of a row
  2. Item moves to top (or back to its original position)
  3. Pins are saved to your user preferences

Document Types

Transcripts

What They Are:

  • Text-based transcriptions of audio/video
  • Editable in the transcript editor
  • Support speaker identification
  • Can include timestamps

Visual Indicator:

  • Purple chip labeled "Transcript"
  • File icon

Captions

What They Are:

  • Time-synchronized subtitles
  • Segmented by time intervals
  • Editable in caption editor
  • Export in subtitle formats

Visual Indicator:

  • Orange chip labeled "Caption"
  • Subtitles icon

Folders

What They Are:

  • Organizational containers for documents
  • Can contain other folders (nested structure)
  • Support permission management

Visual Indicator:

  • Folder icon (yellow/orange)

Clicking on Items

Click on Name or Icon:

  • Folders - Opens the folder
  • Finished Documents - Opens in editor (transcript or caption editor)
  • Processing Documents - Shows "document not ready" message
  • Error Documents - Shows error message, cannot open

Sorting

How to Sort:

  1. Click column header to sort by that column
  2. Click again to reverse sort direction
  3. Arrow icon shows current sort direction

Sortable Columns:

  • Name (alphabetical)
  • Last Modified (date)

Sort Order Toggle:

  • Folders First - All folders appear before documents
  • Mixed by Date - Folders and documents sorted by last modified date

Filtering

Filter Options:

  • Name - Type to search by filename or folder name
  • Status - Select Finished, Processing, Error, or Queued
  • Language - Select from available languages
  • Last Modified - Filter by date range

To Apply Filters:

  1. Click filter icon on column header
  2. Select or enter filter criteria
  3. Grid updates to show matching items only
  4. Clear filters to see all items

Folder Navigation

Breadcrumb Trail:

  • Shows your current location in folder hierarchy
  • Click any folder in the path to navigate back
  • Example: Home / Projects / 2024

Entering Folders:

  • Click on folder name or icon to open
  • Breadcrumbs update to show current location
  • Grid updates to show folder contents

Quick Actions Menu

Access:

  • Click the three-dot menu (...) at the end of each row

Common Actions for Documents:

  • Edit - Open in appropriate editor
  • Export - Download in various formats
  • Rename - Change document filename
  • Move - Relocate to different folder
  • Share - Generate magic link
  • Delete - Remove document

Common Actions for Folders:

  • Open - View folder contents
  • Edit - Modify name and permissions
  • Copy - Duplicate folder structure
  • Move - Relocate folder
  • Delete - Remove folder and all contents

Finalized Status

Documents can be marked as Finalized or Editable:

  • Finalized (green) - Document is locked, cannot be edited, ready for distribution
  • Editable (blue) - Document can still be edited

Toggle this status in the document editor using the finalize switch.

Private Language Models

Documents using private/custom language models show a lock icon next to the language name. These are organization-specific models.
