Edit Captions

Learn how to edit caption text for accuracy and readability.

Text Editing​

Basic Editing​

  1. Select caption from list
  2. Click in text editor
  3. Make changes
  4. Press Tab or click next caption

Multi-line Captions​

  • Press Enter for line break
  • Max 2 lines recommended
  • Keep lines balanced

Character Limits​

Standard: 32-42 characters per line

Editor shows warnings:

  • Green: Within limit
  • Orange: Approaching limit
  • Red: Over limit

Line Breaks​

Manual Breaks​

Insert breaks at natural points:

Hello and welcome
to today's presentation

❌ Bad:

Hello and
welcome to today's presentation

Auto Line Breaks​

Enable in settings to automatically:

  • Break at phrase boundaries
  • Balance line lengths
  • Respect character limits

Text Formatting​

Speaker Identification​

[John]: Hello everyone
[Mary]: Hi, thanks for joining

Sound Effects​

[door opens]
[applause]
[phone ringing]

Music​

♪ Song title - Artist ♪

Find & Replace​

Find Text​

  1. Press Ctrl+F
  2. Enter search term
  3. Navigate results
  4. Edit as needed

Replace Text​

  1. Press Ctrl+H
  2. Enter find/replace terms
  3. Preview changes
  4. Replace all or individually

Spell Check​

Auto spell check highlights errors:

  • Red underline: Spelling error
  • Blue underline: Grammar suggestion
