Edit Captions
Learn how to edit caption text and timing in Scriptix.
Editing Caption Text
To edit a segment:
- Click on a caption segment in the list
- Edit the text in the editor
- Changes save automatically
Navigation:
- Use Ctrl+↓ to go to next segment
- Use Ctrl+↑ to go to previous segment
- Click any segment in the list to jump to it
Adjusting Timing
Individual segment timing:
- Click on a segment
- Modify start time or stop time
- Times use HH:MM:SS.mmm format
Bulk timing adjustments:
- Use the timing shift control
- Adjust all segments at once
- Or adjust from active segment onward
Fine adjustments:
- Ctrl+Shift+[ - Adjust start +0.04s
- Ctrl+Shift+] - Adjust start -0.04s
- Ctrl+Alt+[ - Adjust end +0.04s
- Ctrl+Alt+] - Adjust end -0.04s
Segment Operations
Insert segment:
- Ctrl+Enter (laptop) or Numpad0 (desktop)
- Inserts new segment below active segment
Delete segment:
- Ctrl+Shift+Backspace (laptop) or Alt+Numpad0 (desktop)
- Removes active segment
Split segment:
- Ctrl+Shift+X (laptop) or Ctrl+Numpad0 (desktop)
- Splits active segment at cursor position
Search
Find text:
- Press Ctrl+F or click Search button
- Type search query
- Segments filter to show matches only
- Click any match to edit
- Clear search to show all segments
Playback Controls
While editing:
- Space - Play/Pause
- Ctrl++ - Speed up
- Ctrl+- - Slow down
- Ctrl+← - Go back 5 seconds
- Ctrl+→ - Go forward 5 seconds
Segment playback:
- Ctrl+Shift+P - Replay active segment from start
- Numpad8 - Replay segment (desktop)
Undo/Redo
- Ctrl+Z - Undo last change
- Ctrl+Y - Redo
