Caption Synchronization

Keep captions synchronized with your audio.

Verifying Sync​

Use playback to check synchronization:

  1. Play the media
  2. Watch/listen as captions appear
  3. Verify captions match audio timing
  4. Pause and adjust if needed

Playback controls:

  • Space - Play/Pause
  • Ctrl+← - Go back 5 seconds
  • Ctrl+→ - Go forward 5 seconds
  • Ctrl+Shift+P - Replay active segment

Adjusting Sync​

For individual segments:

  1. Click on the segment
  2. Adjust start time to match speech start
  3. Adjust end time to match speech end
  4. Use keyboard shortcuts for fine adjustments

For multiple segments:

  • Use timing shift control to adjust all segments
  • Or adjust from active segment onward
  • Useful when timing is consistently off

Checking Your Work​

Review process:

  1. Play through the entire media
  2. Check captions at the beginning
  3. Check captions in the middle
  4. Check captions at the end
  5. Make adjustments as needed

Good synchronization makes captions easy to follow.
