Caption Styling & Position

Customize caption appearance in the media player preview while editing.

Text Styling

The caption editor includes styling controls for the media player preview:

Available styles:

  • Bold (B button)
  • Italic (I button)
  • Underline (U button)
  • Strikethrough (S button)

To apply text styling:

  1. Select a caption segment
  2. Click the style button in the media player controls
  3. Style applies to the selected segment
  4. Preview shows styled text during playback

Text Color

Choose from preset caption colors:

Available colors:

  • White (default)
  • Yellow
  • Green

To change text color:

  1. Select a caption segment
  2. Click a color button in the media player controls
  3. Color applies to the selected segment
  4. Preview shows colored text during playback

Position

Adjust caption vertical position in the media player preview:

Position controls:

  • Move to top (double arrow up)
  • Move up one level (single arrow up)
  • Move down one level (single arrow down)
  • Move to bottom (double arrow down)

To adjust position:

  1. Click position buttons in the media player controls
  2. Caption position adjusts in 10-pixel increments
  3. Preview shows new position during playback

Preview Display

Styled captions appear in the media player with:

  • Selected text color
  • Applied text styles (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough)
  • Chosen vertical position
  • Semi-transparent black background for readability

Using in Editing Workflow

Styling helps with:

  • Previewing caption appearance during editing
  • Distinguishing different speakers
  • Emphasizing important words
  • Testing readability at different positions

Export Considerations

Caption styling in the preview is primarily for editing workflow. Export format determines which styles are preserved in the final file.
