Apply Glossaries to Translations

Glossaries are applied automatically during translation. There is no separate step to attach a glossary to a document.

How it works

When you translate a transcript, Scriptix looks for an active glossary whose source and target languages match the translation you requested. If one exists, its term pairs are used so that your defined terms are translated consistently.

To make sure a glossary is applied:

  1. Confirm the glossary's source and target languages match the translation you want.
  2. Confirm the glossary is active (see Manage Terms).
  3. Translate the transcript as usual. The glossary is applied automatically.

Tips

  • Keep only one active glossary per language pair to avoid ambiguity about which terms are used.
  • Fix errors in the source transcript before translating, since glossaries only affect matched terms, not the overall transcription quality.
  • Deactivate a glossary instead of deleting it if you only want to pause its use.
